The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed the reports that no life was lost after the 7-storey building in Banana Island collapsed.
In the late hours of yesterday afternoon, it was that a 7-storey building on 1st Avenue in Highbrow Banana Island collapsed while some workers were still working.
In a statement released by LASEMA, it disclosed that the building collapsed after a truck ran into it.
“Upon the arrival of the LASEMA Response Team at the scene of the incident, a seven-story building under construction was found to have collapsed. Information gathered revealed that the building collapsed as a result of a truck that ran into the building.
Fortunately, no loss of life, however, efforts are ongoing to reconstruct the building to ground zero so as to forestall any secondary incident.”
